Bob’s Big Boy was a staple of my childhood. In southern California, we actually went to the diner as a family only once in a while, but every time we passed it, it made an impression. The imposing Big Boy statue that stood at every restaurant always caught your eye, and even as a kid I saw it as a relic from the seemingly great times of 50s culture. It was a thing of beauty.
“Big Boy” was made of acrylic and ink and done on archival paper.
